“It was volunteering that finally made me feel like a worthwhile person. ”
—Law Wai-cheung
Words from the Director SO Ka Ue :
Ah Cheung described the network of people he came across as a series of "serendipitous encounters” and he saw himself as a bridge—connecting these encounters to help those in need.
In the final days of his life, Ah Cheung shared with me his long-held aspiration to establish a networking platform that lasts. Yet, until his passing, he had not found a way to bring this vision to life.
Ah Cheung: WINGS OF HOPE represents more than just moving images on a screen. To me, the documentary’s true purpose begins only upon its completion. It embodies Ah Cheung’s dream of a sustainable platform, a bridge that continues his mission to connect different stakeholders across society.
We hope to collaborate with all of you to carry forward these "serendipitous encounters" and together, we can write a new chapter in Ah Cheung’s vision of an inclusive society.

Screening & Related Activity Collaboration Program
To help the public better understand the live culture of people with disabilities, we hope to continue hosting regular screenings within communities. We also seek to organize post-screening sharing sessions or other related activities. The goal is to connect the public with people with disabilities and their caregivers, offering an opportunity to share experiences and resources on technology, education, employment, rehabilitation, and healthcare. Together, we hope to explore ways to support independent living for people with disabilities in Hong Kong.

The documentary Ah Cheung: WINGS OF HOPE highlights Ah Cheung’s dedication to matching people with disabilities to meaningful work, empowering them to unlock their potential and live independently. His initiatives, such as the wheelchair courier network, exemplify the possibilities of inclusive employment and continue to inspire us.
Building upon Ah Cheung’s vision, we also hope to invite employers who have already hired individuals with disabilities, as well as those with disabilities who are currently employed, to join us in sharing their success stories of inclusive employment.
Ah Cheung’s ultimate dream was to set up a library staffed by people with disabilities—a platform to showcase inclusive employment while serving as a blueprint for collective efforts. Inspired by his vision, we hope to expand inclusive employment opportunities within the community.
